Air-cooled chiller
advantage:
Easy and flexible installation: No additional cooling tower or related cooling water pipeline system is required. Simply connect the power supply and chilled water pipeline to put it into use, and the installation process is simple and fast. It can be flexibly installed in different locations indoors or outdoors according to actual needs, and can be easily moved and reinstalled.
Space saving: Due to the elimination of large equipment such as cooling towers, the installation space requirements are relatively low, making it particularly suitable for places with limited space, such as small factories, laboratories, office buildings, etc.
Low maintenance cost: The structure is relatively simple, without a complex cooling water circulation system, reducing the probability of water leakage, scale blockage and other problems. Daily maintenance mainly involves cleaning the condenser fins, inspecting the compressor, etc., and the maintenance workload and cost are relatively low.
Strong adaptability: The requirements for the environment are relatively low, not limited by water resources, and can be used normally in areas with water shortage or poor water quality. And it can work in harsh environments such as high temperature, high dust, etc., with strong adaptability.
Stable operation: The key components of the air-cooled chiller have been optimized and rigorously tested, resulting in high reliability and stability. As long as it is maintained and used normally, the equipment has high operational stability and can operate stably for a long time.
Disadvantages:
Low cooling efficiency: The heat exchange efficiency of air is relatively low compared to water, so under the same cooling demand, the compressor of air-cooled chillers needs to consume more energy to achieve the same cooling effect, resulting in relatively high power consumption.
The heat dissipation effect is greatly affected by the environment: when the ambient temperature is high or the ventilation conditions are poor, the heat dissipation effect of air-cooled chillers will be significantly affected, resulting in a decrease in cooling capacity. In the hot summer, additional heat dissipation measures may need to be taken, such as increasing ventilation equipment.
Loud noise: In order to ensure good heat dissipation, air-cooled chillers are usually equipped with high-power fans, which produce loud noise during operation and have a certain impact on the surrounding environment.
The lifespan of the equipment is relatively short: under long-term high temperature and high load operation, key components such as the compressor of air-cooled chillers wear out quickly, and the overall lifespan of the equipment is relatively shorter than that of water-cooled chillers.

Stable operation: The specific heat capacity of water is relatively large, which can absorb and store more heat, making the temperature fluctuation of the water-cooled chiller smaller during operation and the refrigeration effect more stable. Especially under long-term and high load operating conditions, it can still maintain good refrigeration performance.
Low noise: The heat dissipation of water-cooled chillers mainly relies on the cooling water circulation system, and does not require high-power fans, so the noise generated during operation is relatively small, suitable for places with high noise requirements, such as hospitals, libraries, laboratories, etc.
Long service life of equipment: Due to the relatively low operating temperature and good heat dissipation effect of water-cooled chillers, the working environment of key components such as compressors is better, and the degree of wear is lighter, the service life of equipment is relatively long.
Disadvantages:
Complex installation: It requires the installation of supporting equipment such as cooling water towers, cooling water pumps, and cooling water pipelines, with a complex installation process and a long construction period. And it requires a large amount of space and has high requirements for the installation site.
High maintenance cost: The cooling water circulation system is prone to scaling, corrosion, and other problems, requiring regular cleaning, descaling, anti-corrosion, and other maintenance work, resulting in high maintenance costs. At the same time, the cooling water tower needs to be regularly replenished, which increases the consumption of water resources.
Restricted by water resources: Adequate water supply is required, and usage is restricted in water scarce areas or places with scarce water resources. And if the water quality is poor, water quality treatment is also necessary, otherwise it will affect the normal operation of the equipment.
There is a safety hazard: there is a risk of water leakage in the cooling water circulation system. If the leaked water comes into contact with electrical equipment, it may cause electrical faults or safety accidents.
